Jiangsu Rainbow has been awarded a contract to supply 40 units and 16 units option Genma-Kalmar RTG cranes from Damietta Alliance Container Terminal, Egypt. The purchasing contract was signed officially last week in the Eurogate office in Hamburg.Damietta Alliance is a joint-venture among Eurogate, Contship Italia and Hapag-Lloyd to develop and operate the Port of Damietta’s upcoming Terminal 2 facility. This is the first big order after Jiangsu Rainbow took over the heavy crane business from Kalmar in 2022.


The cranes are equipped with both busbar and diesel engine as power supply in order to support both electrified container blocks and non-electrified blocks, with a future goal to electrify the whole terminal. They will be fully delivered to Damietta, Egypt by Q3 2025.
